From the Editor:

The essence of art is communication. We pay close attention to words, but we also understand pictures; language made visible. Often what is communicated only verbally is misunderstood, not because the medium is wrong, but because words can be so limited. There are many examples of this on a daily basis, and what happens is that we take away what we came with rather than entertain what is offered. The words are not enough to counter the picture one has in one’s mind — more words can't alter it.

And so there is the beauty of art. This magazine is full of some of the most beautiful creatures and landscapes that exist on the earth. These are painted, drawn or photographed to share views, experiences, and dreams with others. We see, we appreciate, and we admire. We don't have to say, "What is this?" I love that.

The incredible artwork in this Summer 2007 issue speaks for itself, enjoy! Sarah Crampton
