Shannon McClane is a graduate of The John Herron School of Art located in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is an avid horsewoman who is interested in the history of horsemanship and the circus arts. She currently manages a private dressage horse farm located in Westfield, Indiana.

"My paintings celebrate expressionism. They celebrate the beauty and majestic power of the horse and other animals. My fantasy paintings are meeting places for bizarre events...exchanges that take place in the world between. Puppets, horses and the other images are transpositions of reality that arise as visions from my unconscious. They, like us, are the bearers of a power greater than themselves."
