"Sport" is my 13 year old appaloosa gelding. I bought him as a 4 year old and, although I have owned several breeds of horses, he is my first appaloosa. Little did I know of the strong-willed, social personality of the appaloosa. He has a way of making you, the human being, feel inferior to his "social class". But, once you win his love, you have a friend for life! He has the stamina and intelligence to perform any task and he is curious with a good sense of humor.
I painted this picture from a photo I took while I was preparing his breakfast. The "tilt" of his head and his alert expression seems to be telling me to "hurry up, I can’t wait"! You will notice the mottled skin and white sclera around the eye which is distinctive characteristic of the appaloosa.
