"Missy" was a brood mare and school horse at the barn where I used to take lessons. I first saw her after she had a foal at the farm. Later she was added to the school horse program, and I got to ride her. We became great partners, and I participated in the barn's horse shows with her. We won a number of ribbons yet more importantly we developed a great friendship. I learned so much from working and being around her. She had a few more foals over the years which I got to see and pet. She developed a weak stifle after the last foal and was sold to someone who could give her "retirement" years.
I'll always remember the special times we had together.
