Mounties in Motion I is a symbolic piece combining Canadian symbols. The maple leaf in it's fall glory was positioned to be reminiscent of the sun shining on the central figure. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer on her black steed was a member of a troop performing the Canadian cultural event "The Musical Ride." To prepare for this painting I travelled to the show for a photo shoot, and collected coloured leaves. I selected and compsed the subjects, and followed my intuition for the background. |
